In the 1920s, Benjamin Holt began running tractors on crawler tracks when iron-wheeled tractors were having trouble slogging through the soft soil of the Sacramento Valley in California. His design greatly influenced the development of military tanks and allowed the great machines of the future to handle the most inhospital terrain. In 1925, the Holt-Caterpillar Co. merged with the C.L. Best Tractor Co. to create the Caterpillar Tractor Co. Since then, Caterpillar has become the name one turns to for the biggest jobs, whether it is to move a mountain...change the course of a river...or dig the foundation for a bridge. Used by the agriculture, forestry, mining, building construction, military, mining scrap and waste industries - among others - Caterpillar today is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines. Caterpillar has been at the forefront of heavy equipment design and manufacturing and is poised to continue that leadership into the next century.

A decade before Holt had put tractors on crawlers, the Diamond T Motor Car Co. was formed. During the 1920s and 1930s, Diamond T continued to improve its trucks, introducing a 8-ton six wheeler in 1932 and a unique rear-engine integrated tanker in 1933. The company often redesigned its standard models with two major re-design phases occuring in 1933 and 1936. Now, a classic 1933 Diamond T is decorated with authentic Caterpillar graphics. Your Caterpillar 1933 Diamond T is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
